Step 1: Install the Plugin
Download and extract the ZIP
Download the plugin archive using the button above and extract it. Inside you will find the custom_post_processing folder with the following files:
custom_post_processing/
custom_post_processing.dat (plugin metadata)
custom_post_processing.php (main plugin logic)
custom_post_processing.tpl (admin panel template)
cron.php (optional cron script)
langs/
english.php (English translations)
english.lang (notification strings)
russian.php (Russian translations)
russian.lang (notification strings)Upload to KVS server
Upload the entire custom_post_processing folder to the KVS plugins directory on your server. This replaces the default empty "Custom Post Processing" plugin with the Vidlytics-powered version:
admin/plugins/custom_post_processing/
Plugin settings are stored in admin/data/plugins/custom_post_processing/data.dat and created automatically on first save.
Step 2: Configure the Plugin
Open plugin settings
In KVS admin panel, go to Settings → Plugins and open "Vidlytics.io AI Metadata".
KVS Admin → Settings → Plugins → Vidlytics.io AI Metadata
Enter your API key and configure settings
Paste your Vidlytics API key (from your dashboard), choose the video source mode, set the number of tags and categories, enable face recognition if needed, and turn on the "Enabled" switch.
Save settings
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page. The plugin is now ready to use.
Step 3: Process Videos
Select videos
Go to the Videos tab in KVS admin panel. Select the videos you want to analyze by checking the boxes next to them.
Open Mass Edit
Scroll to the bottom of the page. In the "Batch Operations" dropdown, select "Mass Edit" and click "Execute".
Start post-processing
Scroll down to the "Post-Processing Plugins" section. Check the box next to "Process with Vidlytics.io AI Metadata" and click "Apply Changes".
A background task is created for each selected video. You can see the task counter at the top of the KVS admin panel.
Summary of the flow:
Videos → Select videos → Batch Operations → Mass Edit → Execute
→ Post-Processing Plugins → Vidlytics.io AI Metadata → Apply Changes
Step 4: Check Progress & Results
Open the plugin settings page
Go to Settings → Plugins → Vidlytics.io AI Metadata. The page shows the status and progress of all running operations: how many tasks are completed, in progress, and waiting.
Results are applied automatically
Completed results are picked up and applied in two ways:
- Automatically, when the next video is processed by KVS
- Manually, by opening the plugin settings page (triggers result pickup immediately)
Title, description, tags, categories, and performers are written directly to the KVS database. The task counter decreases as results are applied.
Video Source Modes
Source Page URL
Sends the original page URL (from gallery_url) to the API. Best for videos grabbed from public tube sites.
Local File Upload
Reads the video file from the server disk and uploads it directly to the API. Use this for locally stored videos that are not publicly accessible via URL.
Optional: Cron for faster result application
If you have crontab access, you can add a cron job to apply results faster (every 2 minutes) without waiting for the next video to be processed:
*/2 * * * * php /path/to/admin/plugins/custom_post_processing/cron.php
This is optional. Without cron, results are still applied automatically when the next video is processed or when you open the plugin settings page.
